Role Qualifications

Each role description in this document here has details of the required qualifications that must be held prior to operating in that role. All courses will be paid for by the club. A summary of all roles and required qualification can be viewed below.

CPD (Continuous Professional Development)

Nidd United encourages Coaches to improve and develop. To that aim the club will seek to support its Coaches to further develop and gain more qualifications especially FA Level 2 coaching certificate. Where funds allow and subject to committee approval the club will normally pay 100% of fees for a Coach to gain further qualifications. Nidd United may ask the Coach to remain coaching at the club for a minimum of one year following the financial support and recoup any support should the Coach leave within 12 months.

Coaches FAQs

How do we order equipment for our team?

If you have any equipment requirements, balls, bibs, poles etc, please put in a request with the details using the online form below. This will be reviewed by the Equipment Secretary (post not currently filled so the Chair will review for now) who will be in contact with you to confirm your requirements.

How do we order new goal posts?

If you need new goal posts, then you'll need to let the Equipment Secretary & Treasurer know first as these are a high price item. Please check what size goals you need here and then get a quote from this website here for a pair of FORZA ALU60 posts at the size you need. Once the Treasurer has authorised the spend, you'll need to call the Net World Sports on 01691 683807 to place the order and arrange delivery. Please ask them to email the invoice to treasurer@niddunited.co.uk. The goals will need assembling when they arrive, so it's a great opportunity for you to get parent helpers involved in setting them up.

How do our players order Match Kits?

All instructions on how to order both un-sponsored and sponsored team kit is available on this page of the website here. Please ask the parents to read it carefully.

I'm a new coach, what do I need to do when I join the club?

It's great to have you on board! Please make sure you've read through the information in the Volunteer Zone

I'm an existing coach or volunteer, what do I need to do each year to stay up to date?

Before the start of each new season, please fresh yourself with the information in the Volunteer Handbook.

How much should we pay referees?

We pay the home game fees at the rate set by the league rules in the season.

You'll need to get a recept from the referee for the cash you pay them, as per these instructions in the Volunteer Handbook

How do we claim back expenses we've incurred?

Out-of-pocket expenses can only be claimed back if you have been given an ExpensePlus account and have followed the Expenses & Purchasing Policy here. Please contact the club Treasurer if you think you need to claim expenses.

What clothing will the club provide for coaches?

All coaches will be provided with a Club branded Coaches Jacket and polo top when they join the club. Please speak to the Coaches Lead about how to get yours.

How do we find a sponsor for our team?

We encourage all teams to seek sponsors for the team and club. Please share this page on our website with potential sponsors. It has all the information they need including a Sponsor's Pack that can be downloaded.

Can we run a tuck shop to make money for our team?

Yes, but there are some simple rules around this. The club is not responsible for any cash collected, unless it is paid into the bank. If it is paid into the bank, it will be put into a ring fenced fund for your team. If you would like to operate a card machine, you can do if authorised by the Treasurer. Teams must not open their own bank accounts

Can we organise Nidd United training and friendly matches in the summer break?

No - once the season closes, we are not insured to do this as a club until the season opens again in September.

Can we organise private training sessions??

Not as an official Nidd Coach. If you have your own training school, you must make it very clearly understood to those attending that it is your own personal venture and Nidd United are not responsible in any way for such training.
