Volunteer at Nidd

The club does not just run itself. It relies 100% on volunteers giving their time to make it happen. If you'd like to volunteer at Nidd United JFC, we'd love to encourage you to do so. The club thrives when people come together to give their time and skill to help develop the players and club.

Current Vacancies

The club has the following roles that need filling:

  1. Coaches/Assistant Coaches - various teams. If you are specifically interested in volunteering as a coach, please read this information here first.
  2. Sponsorship Secretary - responsible for managing relationships with current sponsors.
  3. Kit & Equipment Secretary - managing the kit and equipment requirements for the club.
  4. Assistant Club Welfare Officers - assisting the CWO in this important role.
  5. Social Secretary - responsible for organising a team to run the end of season socials.
  6. Communications Secretary - responsible for managing the club newsletter.
  7. PR/Social Media Secretary - responsible for raising the profile of the club in the local area.
  8. Parent Representative - Represent parents perspective on the Club Committee
  9. Assistant Treasurer - assist the treasurer in maintaining accurate accounts at the club.

Application Process

While we want to make it as easy as possible to volunteer at the club, to ensure the safety of the children in our care, we follow the Football Association's Safer Recruitment Policy which requires volunteer roles be filled using the following process:

  1. Committee defines a role profile.
  2. Those interested in the role will be invited to have an informal chat with 2 members of the Committee.
  3. References collected on the applicant.
  4. FA Criminal Records Checks (CRC) carried out, if role requires them.
  5. Acceptance decisions made by the Committee.
  6. Onboarding, training and support for the new volunteer.

How to get involved?

First, make sure you've read and agree with our Club Ethos here - you'll need to be happy that you can commit to upholding it as a volunteer at this club.

Next, please read the relevant role description place you want to volunteer so that you understand what you are committing to.

If you want to go ahead but you've not yet spoken to the Committee about it, please contact the Club Chair here and they will give you a call to discuss further.

Your next steps should then be:

  1. If you are looking to coach, make sure you have FA FAN number. If you don't, you can set up a FA FAN number here.
  2. If you think you already have a FAN Number but can’t remember it, please don’t set up a new one as this can cause problems. Please retrieve your FAN number here.
