Player's Code of Conduct Charter

Parents - please take time to read this with your child and explain to him/her if necessary. Please note that we have a zero tolerance policy to any form of harassment or bullying

Payer's Obligations to the Game:

  • Make every effort to develop your sporting abilities.
  • Give maximum effort to strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if your team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.
  • Set a positive example for others, particularly younger players and supporters.
  • Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time-wasting.
  • Always have regard for the best interests of the game.
  • Never use inappropriate language.

Payer's Obligations to the Team:

  • Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game to help the team to win.
  • Treat team members with the same respect that you would wish to be treated with.
  • Never give physical or verbal abuse to other team members.
  • Resist any influence which might be seen to bring into question your commitment to the team winning.
  • Respect for the Laws of the Game and Competition Rules.
  • Know and abide by the laws, rules and spirit of the game, and by competition rules.
  • Accept success and failure, victory and defeat equally.
  • Resist any temptation to take banned substances or use banned techniques.


  • Treat opponents with due respect at all times irrespective of the result of the game.
  • Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents.
  • Accept the decision of the Match Official without Protest.
  • Avoid Words or Actions which may mislead a Match Official.
  • Show due respect towards Match Officials.
  • Abide by the Instructions of the Coach, his assistants and the Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code.
  • Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the Opposition.

Coaches Code of Conduct Charter

Coaches Obligations:

  • Coaches/Managers must respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the sport.
  • Coaches/Managers must place the well-being and safety of each player above all other considerations, including the development of performance.
  • Coaches/Managers must adhere to all the guidelines laid down by the Governing Bodies.
  • Coaches/Managers must develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.

  • Coaches/Managers must not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.
  • Coaches/Managers must encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own actions, behaviour and performance.
  • Coaches/Managers must ensure that the activities that they direct or advocate are appropriate for age, maturity, experience and ability of players.
  • Coaches/Managers at the outset, clarify with the players (and where appropriate parents) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach/manager.

Coaches Obligations: (contd)

  • Coaches/Managers must cooperate fully with other specialists (e.g. assistants, other officials, other coaches, sports scientists, doctors, physiotherapists) in the best interests of the players.
  • Coaches/Managers must always promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play) and never condone violations of the laws of the game, behaviour contrary to the spirit of the laws of the game or relevant rules and regulations or use of prohibited substances or techniques.
  • Coaches/Managers must consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance.
  • Coaches/Managers must not use or tolerate inappropriate language or behaviour.

Parents Code of Conduct Charter

Parents/Spectators can have a great influence on children’s enjoyment and success in football. All children play football because they love the game and its fun!

Parents Obligations:

It is important to remember that whatever level of skill a child exhibits, positive encouragement will further contribute to:

  • The children’s enjoyment of the game.
  • Their sense of personal achievement.
  • Each individual’s self esteem.
  • A continued improvement in the child’s skills and techniques.

Parents/Spectators expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child’s attitude towards:

  • Other Players.
  • Officials.
  • Managers and Coaching Staff.
  • Spectators.

Please ensure that as Parents/Spectators you:

  • Are always positive and encouraging towards all of the children, not just your own.
  • Applaud the opposition as well as your own team.
  • Avoid coaching your child during the game.
  • Refrain from shouting and screaming and do not use inappropriate language.
  • Respect the Referees decision and never enter into an argument with any official on the touchline or the field of play!
  • Give attention to each of the children involved in football not just the most talented.
  • Give encouragement to everyone to participate in football.
  • Ensure your child is appropriately equipped for the conditions or the event.
  • Deliver and collect your child promptly or notify the Coaches if you have a problem.
  • Discuss these codes of conduct and explain the importance and relevance of them to your child.
